When Royal Caribbean International’s newest cruise ship, Allure of the Seas, begins its inaugural season on December 5, the more than 6,300 passengers, 16 decks and nearly 2,100 crew members from 65 countries will be guarded by an advanced surveillance system designed for the two largest and most technologically sophisticated cruise ships in the world.
Protecting the safety of those on board the ship, which departs from its homeport, Port Everglades cruise terminal in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is a high priority. As a cruise industry leader, Royal Caribbean has deployed extensive security networks for both public areas and even some not-so-public regions of its fleet of cruise ships, including Allure of the Seas and its sister-ship, Oasis of the Seas. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, has announced the release of the music video for indie band OK Go’s latest song, “Last Leaf.” The video was filmed using the new Samsung NX100, Samsung’s latest innovation in premium camera technology, and is available to view today at www.cre8yourworld.com.
The “Last Leaf” video was made using thousands of photographs taken with the Samsung NX100, woven together to create a stop motion animation clip, demonstrating the NX100′s technical capabilities and creative versatility. The images were combined with hand-drawn animations created by the band, along with award-winning animator Geoff McFettridge. The collaboration marks a new artistic direction for OK Go, whose previous videos have been composed of one-take live-action clips. Read the rest of this entry
